When Guggenheim Abu Dhabi opens on 11 December 2026, visitors can explore a museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art from the 1960s onwards. The collection will spotlight artists from West Asia, North Africa and South Asia alongside internationally recognised names.
Expect large-scale installations, rotating exhibitions, immersive galleries and public programmes throughout the year. The museum will also host educational workshops, performances and talks designed for all ages.

Frank Gehry’s landmark design took two decades to become reality
Designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi features striking geometric forms inspired by traditional Middle Eastern architecture and industrial workshops. The project was first announced in 2006, with construction beginning in 2011 before facing multiple delays.
Nearly 20 years after its original announcement, the museum is finally ready to open. Once complete, it will be the largest Guggenheim museum in the world, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for art and architecture.
